What Sticky Note does

Sticky Note is a personal organisation extension for Google Chrome. It helps you save notes, tasks, links, diary entries, checklists and reminders directly in your Chrome profile. It can read a web page or open email only when you explicitly choose a page-saving feature. It can also create a location-based reminder when you choose that feature and grant Chrome location access.

Information stored on your device

Sticky Note stores the notes, task and diary text, checklist items, saved links, dates, reminder settings, labels, selected pictures, and any location or coordinates you add in Chrome local storage. This content remains in your Chrome profile and is never sent to OKEL.

A current page's title and URL may be held temporarily in Chrome session storage so you can finish saving it in the full workspace. This temporary page reference is cleared automatically when the browser session ends. Page text is read only after you choose to capture a page and is not kept in that temporary session cache.

If you choose "Note this page" or "Save this page," the extension reads the visible page title, description, URL and text from the current tab to prepare editable suggestions. For email pages it may read the open message. Email source URLs are omitted from saved suggestions. Captured text is processed locally by the extension. When available, Chrome's built-in on-device AI may help summarise or categorise content; page text is not sent to OKEL or to any AI service by Sticky Note. Chrome may download on-device model files as part of its own browser features.

Location and address lookup

Location reminders are entirely optional. If you choose a current-location reminder and grant Chrome location access, Sticky Note uses the device's location to check whether you arrive at or leave a selected area. The reminder coordinates and area are stored in your Chrome profile. The extension stores only the current boundary state, not a location history, and does not send location samples to OKEL.

If you choose "Find address," Sticky Note sends the address text you entered to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to resolve it to coordinates. This is a single, optional network request that you initiate. OpenStreetMap may receive the request and your network address under its own policies. You may instead enter coordinates directly without using this lookup. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy for details.

Information shared with third parties

OKEL does not receive your notes, tasks, page text, saved links, pictures or location data.

If billing is enabled, Sticky Note sends a randomly generated installation key to OKEL's billing service to start the device-based 30-day free trial and verify subscription access. The billing service stores a one-way hash of that key, trial and subscription dates, current status, and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. No credit card or payment details are required or collected during the trial period.

When a user chooses to subscribe, Stripe Checkout receives the billing details entered during checkout, such as an email address and payment information, and processes recurring payments. Sticky Note does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe handles all payment information under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy. The extension never sends note content to the billing service or to Stripe.

Sticky Note does not sell user data or use it for advertising purposes. Chrome and your operating system may process data needed to provide Chrome storage, notifications, on-device AI, or location services, each under their own terms and privacy notices.

Retention and deletion

Your content stays in your Chrome profile until you delete it within Sticky Note, clear the extension's browser data, or remove the extension. Items moved to Trash remain in the profile until removed from Trash or until extension data is cleared. Exported backup files are saved to the location you choose and remain under your control at all times.

Sticky Note has no sign-in account and no automatic content sync. Billing records are retained by OKEL and Stripe as needed to operate subscriptions, comply with financial recordkeeping obligations, and handle disputes. For billing-data requests, contact support@okel.app.

Security

Sticky Note uses Chrome's extension storage within your browser profile. OKEL's billing service receives only a pseudonymous installation key and subscription status events, not saved content. Stripe hosts checkout and processes payment information under its own security standards. You should protect your Chrome profile and any exported backup files using your device's security settings.

Children

Sticky Note is a general-purpose personal organisation tool. It is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated if Sticky Note's data practices change. The effective date shown at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing and in any in-product notices within the extension.
